Mission and Philosophy

Mission

To provide high-quality, engaging, and exciting music education experiences to children during their most impressionable ages in order to help shape them into well-rounded, creative, and musical individuals who are accepting and understanding of the world around them and able to participate to their fullest potential in their communities.

Philosophy

All children are born with a musical ability.  Despite popular belief, not only those with a “natural talent” have the ability to sing in tune or dance to the beat.  When provided with a playful, musically nurturing environment at a young age children have the ability to age into adults who feel comfortable singing “Happy Birthday” at parties or tearing up the dance floor at weddings.  My basic philosophic beliefs are:

  1. All children have the ability to grow into musical adults.
  2. Adults who feel confident singing, dancing, and keeping a beat are better able to participate in community events such as concerts, weddings, dances, sporting events, and parties.
  3. Children who learn to understand and appreciate many types of music from several different cultures are more likely to grow into adults who are accepting of the world around them.
  4. Children who participate in actively making music are more creative, solve problems more easily, and have better communication and cooperation skills than those who do not.
